Tuesday, 3 Feb 2015

Meeting Location: Bees Nees Bar

Present: Pussy Snatcher, Bam Bam, Beetroot Head, BHPC

Meeting Called To Order: GM Pussy Snatcher called the meeting to order at 5.08 pm.

Minutes Of Last Meeting: Take last meeting minutes as read.

Monkey Finances: Monkey Finances: Bam Bam. Cash: B26,703 Cash and Assets: B32,681 Reminder: It was agreed we should maintain a cash balance of at least B10,000. Amounts above this minimum are available for doing something special on future runs. Ideas and requests for use of the additional funds s/b presented to mismanagement prior to the run date.

Last Run: Run 53: Great job by the hares on laying a good trail, c-site food, and ending the day at a venue. Run returned a surplus of B3,429 which will be added to hash cash to subsidize run losses or future special events.

Next Run(s): 21 March. Hares are G.I. Joe and Dizzy. They have something special planned, but the theme is a well guarded secret. Details on the website. Email will be sent to the Monkey d-list shortly.

Website/FB: Up to date with the exception of a couple of last minute changes to the hare line.

Hare Line: In great shape. Latest changes are: Scar With 2 T’s (co-hares needed) for November. VV and friends are on for January, 2016. July, 2015 and March, 2016 are open dates. Reminder, in the interest of giving as many as possible a chance to hare a Monkey, we limit hares to one run per Monkey year.

Hash Awards: All Good

Beer Truck: No problems. Hares are reminded that money to purchase beer and softies needs to be given to Bam Bam no later than one week prior to the run.

Hash Rags: Sold B750 of Jungle rags. Ten virgin shirts have arrived and have been added to Monkey inventory.

Other Business:
• On 4 October, 2015 the Monkey will celebrate 10 Years of Monkey. We will celebrate this occasion on run #57, LL’s run. Festivities to be discussed at future Monkey meetings. Mark your calendars now for this run.
• A new run budget policy was discussed and agreed on. The new policy is as follows:
• For purposes of deciding what signup fee to charge, the starting point will be 500 baht/hasher. That amount will be used to cover costs that are outside the hares’ control (transportation, beer, softies, ice, cups, garbage bags). The items which are within the hares’ control (snacks, C-site and venue food) will need to be covered by whatever fee the hares decide to charge, over and above the 500 baht starting point. Note that hash cash will cover any shortfall for those expense items covered by the 500 baht portion of the signup fee. On the flip side, if there is a surplus that surplus amount will be deposited to hash cash unless the hares approach mismanagement before the run date with a request to use a portion of the surplus to subsidize run expenses under their control. A spreadsheet with an analysis of run costs based on differing number of paid signups can be found at this link. The row titled “Hash Cash Responsibility: Transportation, Beer, Soda, Water, Ice, Cups” has the per hasher costs we used to arrive at the 500 baht starting point. The goal was to set the starting point at an amount that would return a small surplus to hash cash on each run.
